A 1796 Version of the 23rd Psalm by Charles Garden D.D.

Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in pleasant pastures;

He tendeth me near the still waters.

My body he bringeth back, and settleth me,

In the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil, because thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me.

Thou preparest a table for me, before my severest persecutors;

Thou makest plump my head with fatnes;

My cup is full of liquor.

Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;

And in in the house of Jehovah I shall dwell for ever.
